Balance arm used to suspend two pans for weighing small quantities of goods or medicine against set weights. A copper alloy pan for one of these balances was also found at Caerlaverock Castle (CAER028). Discovered during archaeological excavations of the moat at Caerlaverock Castle, Dumfries and Galloway, 1955-1966.
