Elizabeth II (1952- ) one shilling, 1953. The obverse shows am uncrowned laureate portrait of Elizabeth II, facing right. The inscription reads 'ELIZABETH II DEI GRA BRITT OMN REGINA'.

The reverse shows a crowned sheild with with scrolled detail. The sheild is divided into quarters; two depict three lions, one shows the lion rampant of Scotland, and the last depicts the harp of Ireland. The inscription reads 'FID DEF, HALF CROWN 1953.'
