Anglo Boer war tribute medal with red, white & blue ribbon, 1902.
This medal was donated to the citizens of Leith in commemoration of the South African war of 1899-1902.
It is shield shaped and bears a garland below.The crowned arms of Leith are at centre of design on the obverse. The Virgin and Child are seated in a ship with a cloud above.
The reverse design reads the inscription, PRESENTED TO THE TOWN COUNCIL AND CITIZENS OF LEITH FOR SERVICE IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR.
The obverse inscription indicates the year, 1902, and the motto PERSEVERE.
