Fragment of a funeral effigy
This stone is a fragment of a funeral effigy. Its slopiing surface is carved with the remains of two feet and the lower hem of a full-length gown which falls is stylised spiral folds between the feet. Over the right foot of the effigy is what may have been a narrow fringe, possibly the lower edge of a maniple or a stole. This might indicate that this was an ecclesiastical effigy.
